Operations Director

Ingrid Fitt
Operations Director

"Imperfection is beauty, madness is genius, and it's better to be absolutley ridiculous than absolutely boring." - Marilyn Monroe

Ingrid's decision to work at AISK was based on one very important criteria – she wanted a job in which she felt she was making a difference and a valued contribution to the community. What better way to have done this than to work in an environment where young, powerful minds were being shaped and developed everyday? As AISK's Operations Director, Ingrid's hat has a very wide brim – her roles extend from overseeing the human resources on campus, supervising the school's financial resources, aiding in the preparation of the annual budget, maintenance of the grounds, setting up for special events, and supervising any construction projects. It seems to be an extremely large portfolio, but Ingrid gushes that the atmosphere at AISK is so directed at excellence, that it makes her job a pleasure. She states that the school vision of 'ours students shape the future' is not one that is used loosely, as the staff takes it very seriously and never settles for mediocrity in their roles.

“Leading by example" is Ingrid's work philosophy. She believes that excellence in students cannot be expected without exemplifying excellence in the staff and faculty. One of the greatest assets of her job is witnessing the diverse cultural nature of the school give rise to an exciting, dynamic atmosphere on campus, encouraging not just proud, motivated students, but proud, motivated staff. It is a contagious atmosphere, and the feel of family and camaraderie is immediately felt as she enters the grounds each day. “The school is fabulous – I love working here. We all love working together and are always willing to help each other in any way that we can. I also enjoy watching the children grow and accomplish things they never dreamed of. I've seen children come into the school as shy, introverted students, but by the end of the year they are so happy and comfortable that they are the lead in a play or in a dance troupe. It is truly amazing."

Ingrid's experience of watching students grow and develop is not just as a staff member, but also firsthand as a parent. As the mother of two AISK graduates, she feels that it is indeed a gift to be able to work in an environment which is the best fodder for creating the future leaders of the world – “Children leave AISK as leaders. They are confident, driven, willing to take risks and to think outside the box. This makes AISK a quality educational choice, and not only am I happy to have been able to give my children this opportunity, but to work in this amazing environment everyday."
